I need support

Meet The Team: Operations Director Jonathan Batchelor

Our new Operations Director, Jon, is ready to help grow Combat2Coffee and take it to the next level.

Jon joined the team in April, bringing with him 35 years of experience in the catering industry.

His wealth of knowledge and leadership will help shape the future of Combat2Coffee — supporting not just the business, but the wider community we proudly serve.

Jon first crossed paths with Combat2Coffee while mobilising the early works contract at Sizewell C. It was there he met our founder, Nigel, and instantly connected with our mission.

Jon said:

“I was blown away with the passion that Nigel and his team have.

“Nigel’s dedication to supporting others through coffee and conversation really hit home for me. It showed how we all, as individuals, have the ability to help others — just by talking.

“Coffee is simply the vehicle for conversation. It just happens that Combat2Coffee has incredibly great coffee.”

Jon is no stranger to the military world, having been born into a military family, his father was in the RAF as Station Warrant Officer at both RAF Marham and Coltishall.

As Operations Director, Jon is focused on helping Combat2Coffee grow and expand its impact. He will support the entire team — helping each member grow in their roles, while overseeing day-to-day operations. He’s drawing on his extensive experience, which includes working on large-scale projects with organisations like the NHS.

Jon is excited about the future of Combat2Coffee:

“When I joined the team, I was instantly excited with Nigel’s vision and what the next few years looks like.

“What excites me most is working with passionate people who want to make a change — both the team at Combat2Coffee and the individuals we support through the work we do.

“Combat2Coffee’s diverse business model means no two days are the same. One day, we’re serving amazing coffee and cake at our Fusion Café for corporate clients at Sizewell C. The next, we’re hosting a coffee morning with our outreach team or delivering barista training to inmates in one of the prisons we support.

“There aren’t many roles like this one — I feel very lucky.”

Outside of work, you’ll find Jon spending his time with wife Louise and daughter Anise. You’ll usually find them at the gym, out walking their two dogs Archie and Hector, or cooking up something tasty together in the kitchen.

Jon also has a love for sports, especially triathlon. He’s already taken on a few half Ironmans, and his goal is to complete a full Ironman by the time he turns 50.
