One person instrumental in the growth of Combat2Coffee is our very own admin whizz and all-round unsung hero Molly Allen.
Molly first joined the team when we operated from a pop-up coffee shop in the former Spokeworx cycle shop – and minus a three-year stint at university has been with us every step of the way since.
She said: “I started out helping Nigel in the early days, working a few events here and there.
“It wasn’t until I finished university in 2022 that I found myself not knowing what I wanted to do next – and Nigel needed some extra support as the project continued to grow.
“What started off as part-time admin support turned into a full-time role as an Admin and Events Coordinator.
“Today I do anything from planning events, leading on invoicing and accounts, managing Nigel’s diary and helping the team out on the road. No two days are ever the same.
“I enjoy it a lot. It is amazing to see how far the project has come.”
Molly, who is also Nigel’s god daughter, said she has seen first-hand how our work has helped both Nigel and his fellow veterans alike.
She said: “I love getting out and about and meeting people. People are so open to conversation about their own experiences thanks to what we do.
“Seeing first-hand how the team are making a difference is incredible.”
Molly added she wants to see and hear of more success stories as our project continues to grow.
She said: “I want to see us grow even more, fund more outreach work and extend our reach further, helping as many people as we can.”
Molly is now set to return to her studies remotely as she looks to pursue her passion for psychology with a master’s degree from the University of Derby.
Thankfully for Nigel and the team, she’ll still be working with us part-time!
