Voluntary sector veteran and coffee aficionado Keith Myers ensures smooth operations behind the scenes for Combat2Coffee.
Keith joined the team as Operations Manager in October 2023 and has since become an integral part of day-to-day life at the organisation.
His diverse role sees him take a lead in ensuring deliveries go out on time and our coffee shops and customers are well stocked with their favourite roasts and sweet treats.
Before joining the team, he ran The Mix coffee shop in Stowmarket and has extensive experience in the catering industry.
He said: “I used to run a charity coffee shop in Stowmarket and first met Nigel when we bought the old Combat2Coffee horsebox trailer from him.
“We struck a deal that we would sell his coffee if he sold us the trailer – and we built a relationship from there.
“A colleague of mine joined Combat2Coffee and got in touch with me about the Operations Manager vacancy, and the rest is history.”
As well as his work behind the scenes, Keith also manages our coffee shop at the Unity Centre in Whitton and represents the business out on the road during community events.
Meeting customers and helping signpost people to our support services is his favourite part of the job, he said.
He added: “I really do love the job. I have always enjoyed working in the third sector and giving back.
“The best part of the job though is knowing how much you are helping people. And that’s not exclusive to veterans, but prisoners and families too.
“I love it when people come in for a chat or just to say hello.”
No stranger to coffee, Keith has also been quick to praise our range of roasts.
He said: “We really do make some great coffee.
“Nigel is always spinning plates behind the scenes looking for new opportunities to boost the business, so it’s a really exciting time to be here.
“There’s never a dull moment.”
Outside of work, Keith is a big hockey fan and coaches a roller hockey team in Debenham as well as managing an ice hockey team in Cambridge.
He also enjoys spending time with his family and cheering on his beloved Arsenal.
